A "foodie's" dream comes true when you step onto that 9-seater private Propjet Charter plane that will take you across the South Australian state to meet with gourmet chefs, cheese makers, Abalone farmers, olive oil producers, wine makers, tuna farmers, and alike.

This Food Safari will take you on a 6 day trip from Kangaroo Island to the Eyre Peninsula and the Barossa Valley to hunt, collect and experience various local and regional delicacies.

From a Tasting Journey, including local dairy, seafood, wine and even hydroponic lettuces, a Hunting & Collecting Tour for your lunch, swimming with the mighty Southern Blue Fin Tuna, and visiting wineries that have been running for over five generations, there is nothing that will be missed along the way nest food and the people who make it happen. This Safari is a celebration of the evolving and exciting world of food and wine in South Australia and there is no one better to host your safari than local South Australian identity, Mark Gleeson, a well known character from the Adelaide Central Markets. Mark has been using his vast knowledge and passion of South Australia's produce to introduce locals and visitors to the finest food and the people who make it happen.

By appointment only the tour takes you to the busy warehouse of a South Australian company regarded as the showcase of both international classics and the crème de la crème of Australia's burgeoning specialty cheese industry.

The mighty 100kg Swiss Emmentalers may take up most of the room, but the little 'stinkers' from France still make their presence felt. English Cloth cheddars, Stilton, Roquefort and Gorgonzola, French Camemberts, Bries, Triple Creams, cheeses from sheep, goat, buffalo and cow milk. Literally hundreds.

The class begins with a factory tour. Vast chillers of cheese, a cheese ageing room, the only one in South Australia, a busy loading bay and a fury of cheese fanatics cutting and wrapping cheese for the most sophisticated cheese retail shops and restaurants in SA. The taste journey takes in the seven types of cheeses and will dispel all myths and misconceptions…come and be pampered by the experts.

The Asian Supermarkets can be a mystery. Catering to diverse Asian immigrant groups, the shops are bustling with chefs, home cooks and confused shoppers. The shelves laden with exotic goods..Fungus, pastes, palm sugar, chilies and noodles. Bamboo shoots, bok choy, kang kong, century eggs, ginseng, sake, shark fin and tobi nuts. How do you use these ingredients?

The Adelaide Central Market Asian Supermarket tour is a guided walking tour that visits the three main CBD Asian supermarkets in the Market precinct.  Our 1.5 hour tour with Chef’s Media Tour Guide, Jack Liao. Jack will advance your Asian cooking knowledge to new levels and will provide you with skills in easy, how to use methods in Asian cuisine. Best thing is..Jack can answer all your questions about how to use the ingredients.

This tour is by appointment only and is available on Thursday and Saturday mornings. Recipes and notes will be supplies on a complimentary CD.  A great tour to bring friends, shop and go home and cook for friends and family.
